Steve’s Meat Shop (SMS) was established in 1980.  We are a USDA Federally Inspected Meat Shop.  SMS was founded by Stephen and Susan Fowler.  This successful small business has Stuffed, Grilled, Smoked, and Cut more meat than your average Midwestern Meat Shop. 

SMS has a seasoned line of employees ready to serve in our Event Catering, Meat Counter, Deer Processing and Prepared Food services of our company.  SMS has new innovations in technology, equipment and a wealth of knowledge in the sausage and meat processing business.  We boast an average of four days turn around time in Deer Processing (including specialty products) with the most yield for your deer.  If you are not a Hunter and want to try our products you can visit our shop and purchase retail venison, elk, buffalo, wild boar and more from our meat counter during our normal hours of operation.

SMS is a proud member of the Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry Program FHFH Program (Donate).  Throughout the years we have processed thousands of pounds of Deer meat to help food banks and charitable organizations feed the hungry.  You can visit their website by clicking here: FHFH Website.

CHANGES FOR THE BUSINESS:
In the Spring of 2011 SMS will be moved from Montpelier IA to a new location 1 mile West of Blue Grass IA on HWY 61, the address will be 3881 HWY 61 Blue Grass IA.  We have a new expanded facility with additional services to meet the needs of the surrounding areas.  Throughout the years SMS has grilled food for thousands of people in our event catering business that serves at many events in the Quad Cities and Muscatine areas.  We are bringing the cooked ready to eat food portion to our new business location with a new WILD SIDE and TAME SIDE Menu.  We will also have the convenience of a DRIVE THROUGH.  You will also be able to pay with cash or credit at our new location in the Spring of 2011.
